David Borzotta and Jin Sung Kim were both named undersheriffs.
Cora Taylor was appointed chief warrant officer.
Most recently a security supervisor at MetLife Stadium, Borzotta was a detective for more than a decade, handling everything from drugs, gambling and burglaries to robberies, arsons, fatal accidents and homicides. For several years, he was assigned to a DEA task force based in Newark.
Borzotta retired from the prosecutor's office as a captain before developing a program that teaches high school freshmen in Bergen County about the rise and dangers of heroin and opioid abuse. He also testified before the New Jersey State Assembly in an effort to strengthen heroin laws.
Kim, who works as an attorney in Fort Lee, retired from the prosecutor's office in 2016 after 25 years. He worked as a detective handling various duties, including trials, grand jury investigations, gambling and organized crime probes and technical operations.
Taylor had extensive experience in the prosecutor's Special Victims Unit.
Although it wasn't expected to be made official until next month, Cureton has added two other undersheriffs, bringing the number to the state-mandated limit of four:
- Former Lodi Police Chief Vincent Quatrone;
- Former Bergen County Sheriff's Lt. Alan Gailes, an investigator for the county Department of Consumer Affairs.
"The sheriff will make additional appointments in the future and all other names are speculative at this time," spokesman Derek Sands said Tuesday afternoon.
